A feast for the ages

Yesterday we worked a short day and came home for a relaxing Thanksgiving afternoon. I drew the long stick and got the job of babysitter! Gaby, Tristan and I sat around, played, slept and watched football all afternoon.

Lisa, Tricia (a nurse working with us) and a few others spent the afternoon in the kitchen making turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, vegetables and pumpkin pie.

Around 6PM, all 15 of us sat at an enormous table and marveled at the feast. Before we dug-in, we all said what we were thankful for. For me, it was my new family.

For the next hour, we did what most Americans always do. We stuffed our faces, laughed, told stories and jokes, drank good wine and forgot all of our troubles.

It was a great night.
