Fun in Port Au Prince

Today I took a trip to the capital to buy furniture. My driver, Ricardo, my interpreter, Evens, and I all shopped in a western style furniture store for hours picking out things for the new house. We got a couch, a dining room set, a dresser, some fans, a desk and two night stands. After signing on the dotted line, we were all famished.

As a thank you present, I took Ricardo and Evens to their first Chinese restaurant. For an hour we stuffed our faces with hot and sour soup, chicken in black bean sauce, broccoli beef, sweet and sour chicken and fried rice. Evens and I loved every bite. Ricardo was not a fan of the beef but really liked everything else (he wanted broccoli goat instead).

Who would have known you can get top quality, authentic Chinese food here in Haiti.
