Back in October, we had an extremely low birth weight child born. At one point, he weighed 850 grams (1.8 pounds). Initially, his mother did not want to feed him. She knew “there was no chance of him surviving” and she didn’t want to become emotionally attached.
Each day that passed we were always surprised he was still alive. Despite many hurdles, he just kept ticking.
Today, I received word that he is doing very well and currently weighs in at a staggering 2000 grams (4.4 pounds). He may be able to leave the hospital soon and enjoy New Years with his family.
