Early bird gets the….

During the strike, medical students are in charge of patient care. Usually the on-call student arrives at noon and stays 24 hours in the hospital. There is only one student per service at a given time.

Today on rounds there were two students. I looked slightly puzzled and then Leon said “I just came in early for rounds so that I would know the patients better.”

Wow, he arrived four hours early just so he could provide the best possible care.

Students like Leon are going to help change the face of health care in the DR Congo.
