Who’s the teacher here?

I still have a lot to learn. The point is reiterated on rounds each day when I ask the resident doctors or medical students about tropical diseases. It is funny and a little embarrassing, but I frequently ask questions like “How do you treat bilharzia?” or “What is the duration of fever in malaria after treatment is started?” or “What is the next drug to try in AIDS patients with chronic diarrhea?”

Despite the hit to my pride, I will likely keep asking questions until I know the answers.

A great San Leandro teacher said to me one time, you will never learn everything, but to learn something new everyday is a adventure on it’s own but only if you keep asking questions to everything.
