A fatal disease, but not this time!

I have never seen a child survive the ravages of tetanus. Days after patients suffer an injury to their skin, debilitating, painful muscle spasms begin. They usually progress to death within a few days to a week.

One of my patients is on his way to a miraculous recovery from tetanus! He is still very weak, but he no longer remains in the contorted posture typical of the infection. I suspect he will continue to recover.
