Run away from the runway

Some runways are short, some are perched on a cliff and some are deep within valleys. They often have one flaw and pilots learn to manage them.

Lukla is a different story. The tiny landing area is on top of a ravine between two very tall mountains and slopes up at an astonishing angle. Flying to this airport is not your average day at the office.

Hey there you two. I have thoroughly enjoyed catching up on all of your past posts. I am extremely jealous of your trek. I am sure that I will be back over there someday to conquer some of those amazing hikes. We have been reading “Into Thin Air” a stunning book on the possibly the greatest disaster on Everest. It was recommended to us by Brent. We were glad that we picked it up. You should check it out.

    Stay in touch.
