The pollution in the Kathmandu Valley is often unbearable. In a survey from 2006, it was rated the city in Asia with the highest level of particulate debris (a PM10 of 120 micrograms per square meter). I often find myself sneezing, breathing through a stuffy nose or wiping water from my irritated eyes. After a nice rain, we have a short breath of clean air but shortly after, the debris floats back in the valley.
