Exciting times

Teaching the residents has been very fun. On Monday, we talked for 2 ½ hours about a variety of topics including a patient in the intensive care unit, jaundice and genitourinary diseases.

Wednesday was great too. I created four mock codes (simulations of emergencies) and had the residents manage the situations. They were focused and interested in learning. A few of the scenarios were very complicated and they performed well. I was proud of them.

Tomorrow, I will give a detailed lecture on genetic diseases (inborn errors of metabolism). I gave a simple lecture in residency but I started completely over for this one. I began preparing last week and spent 12 hours today putting the final touches on the talk. We’ll see how it goes.
