A great way to do things

In the DR Congo, I was often frustrated when I was unable to order a test or give a medicine because the family was unable to pay. Fortunately, that same frustration has not traveled with me to East Timor. All medical care is free and I can order the necessary care without regard to cost or the resources of the family. I love that the malnourished child of a poor farmer receives the same relatively high level of care as the son of the army general. It is nice to be a physician in a one-tiered system.
