Shoppers Market

The luxuries of home are hard to find in the DRC. Most shopping is done on the street or at outdoor markets and there are no large grocery stores.

However, a group of Lebanese men have opened a small shop with western goods. You may buy one of 103 types of shampoo, a two dollar shot of yogurt, a $30 bottle of 100% agave tequila, wheat bread or high quality chicken. You may even purchase home gym equipment.

This small market gives us a little taste of home.

It reminds me of my days in South Carolina, only one original Mexican restaurante at the time. The place would be packed on weekends. Always good to have those costly luxurious.
